From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as important members in House Halovar could help the team reach locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Explorers and Planners groups.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, streaming live on next week.
